The Shanghai Bailonggang Sewage Treatment Plant is located in Chaoyang Village, Heqing Town, Pudong New Area. It is an important component of the second phase of Shanghai sewage treatment project. In September 2008, the upgrade and renovation project was fully completed and put into operation, with a treatment capacity of 2 million cubic meters per day. It is the largest sewage treatment plant in Asia and also one of the world's largest sewage treatment plants, accounting for about one-third of Shanghai's urban sewage treatment capacity.
